RECENT Projects

Waste elimination

To improve output, Harry observed waste in motion for each production member. Then Harry found the issuance of materials was full of unnecessary actions done by production members. So Harry advised Kaizen Circle members to set up a Milk Run or delivery system from the warehouse to the production to optimize production.

Storage Centralization

To rationalize the inventory, Harry analyzed the locations of the material and noticed that there were several stock points and some of the stock were common items. Harry computed the estimated area for centralizing the storage with appropriate stock levels.

Kanban 

Kanban is an inexpensive way to monitor the inventory level. It signals as the number of an item is on or below the reorder point. Harry introduced the Kanban system to not reduce the inventory but also rationalize the inventory for raw materials.

Consultation

Question: How do you proceed and conduct your consultation service?

Answer: The basic policy of the consultation service is to visit the actual site or Gemba so that I can grasp the current scenarios. If the distance is a constraint, we'll communicate via video chat, particularly observing the Gemba; project staff can bring her/his smartphone to take video and/or pictures so that I can provide a written proposal with the project lead-times.

Overseas 

Question: What payment methods do you accept?

Answer: For international settlement, I accept TransferWise.

Haruhiko "Harry" Matsumura has been CEO of Harry Consulting Services since 1999, focusing on sales and marketing and factory establishment advisory for Japanese manufacturers in Southeast Asia, especially the Philippines. From 1985 to 1998, Harry worked for a leading machine tools wholesaler, and during that time, he was responsible for the domestic market and overseas business development. in particular, from 1993 to 1995, Harry was engaged with Mitsui & Co, a leading trading conglomerate, and was responsible for establishing Toyota Motor's supply chain in the Philippines for its auto parts and machine tools. Harry is an expert in inventory control and market development. Harry is an accredited mentor and management expert of IBARAKI Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Public Corporation. Harry graduated from Tokyo College of Foreign Languages in 1985, studying cross-cultural communication. Harry is a pastor of Hitachinaka International Ministry.
